Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Holy Spirit, His death, descent into hell, resurrection, and ascension are central to Christian belief. The holiness of the Church, the communion of saints, and the second coming of Christ, along with the Day of Judgment and the salvation of the faithful, are also key aspects of the faith. Among the primary teachings of Jesus, later embraced by Christians, are: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself; forgive those who wrong you; love your enemies; ask God for forgiveness; and recognize that Jesus, as the Messiah, was given the authority to forgive sins. Repentance is essential for salvation.
A true Christian is someone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and models their life after His example. Being a Christian often leads to persecution, yet Christians glorify God through it.
